Second Place Goes to Carrabba's Team Blythe in Point Pleasant Grand Prix
Carrabba's Team Blythe traveled to the Jersey shore to race in the Point Pleasant Grand Prix which took place on August 14-16, 2002 in Point Pleasant Beach, New Jersey. The event started out with a great parade of boats through the middle of downtown Point Pleasant drawing thousands of spectators of all ages. The crowd lined the streets as the Carrabba's girls rode in the race boat and entertained the crowd by tossing out party favors and free give-a-ways. Special thanks to Lauren, Jackie, Katie and Matt from Carrabba's. Their wonderful personalities and bathing attire made our boat the talk of the town. They out-did the Coor's light girls and even the Bud girls by showing what a "natural" girl looks like. They have now been deemed "Blythe Girls." The local newspaper covered the event and we are proud to report that the article included coverage of our boat.

The weather was very overcast with poor visibility and the water was rough and choppy just the way Carrabba's Team Blythe likes it. Unfortunately we found out later that we were down on power due to a spark plug wire vibrating off the plug. The race results would have been different had we known about this problem. We did however come across the finish line in second place and were happy with the results given the fact our engine was not running as it's fullest power.
For the second time this year, the Brick Carrabba's in New Jersey opened it's doors and menu to Carrabba's Team Blythe Offshore Racing. Joining us at the dinner were the Blythe Girls which took the party up a notch and the entire group had enough food and drink to last a week. Thanks again to owner, Chris Blythe for being such a gracious host. Carrabba's Team Blythe is already making plans for next years Grand Prix.
