Team Blythe

Jul 01- 03, 2005 Carrabba's Team Blythe Storms into Sarasota and Take Top Five Honors

Carrabba's Team Blythe offshore racing captured top five honors at the Annual Suncoast Offshore Grand Prix in Sarasota. Forty thousand spectators showed up for the boat parade in downtown Sarasota with Carrabba's boat leading the way. The team gave out Carrabba's and others sponsors swag down the parade route. It was a huge hit. So much so that the police had to come and restrain the crowds from getting too close to the boat and actually climbing on the boat. The team had great weather and water to race on for this event. They faired well considering the huge ocean waves they had to traverse. All of this was captured on OLN TV (Outdoor Life Network Television) and the local ABC affiliate in Sarasota, SNN-Channel 6.

Special thanks to Drew and Dalen, the owners of the two Sarasota Carrabba's for their generous hospitality. The boat was on display throughout the weekend at both Carrabba's for the patrons and passerby's to get close and feel the excitement. Check out the photos below for complete coverage of the events.

Thanks to the folks at the corporate headquarters of Carrabba's for taking time out of their busy day to see the boat and have a photo opportunity. Andi, Holly and Dana were great sports and we hope take them out on the waters one day to the feel the adrenaline rush first hand. The staging for the parade is taking place with Carrabba's Team Blythe race boat taking the lead in front of the famous Bacardi Silver boat. The Bacardi boat is owned by Anheiser Busch, the makers of Budweiser. It is nice to have a close association with a well recognized brand name.
