Carrabba's Team Blythe Goes to the World Championships in Key West, Florida

Carrabba's Team Blythe arrived in Key West hoping to defend their world championship from 2003. It was a two day qualifier followed by one day of championship racing. The team took third place in both qualifiers and ended up in third place for the overall championship. The competition was stiff with entries from all around the world. The team was happy to secure a third place finish with bigger boats being able to participate in their class because of rule changes. That's racing.

The crowds were huge for this world championship event. The fans had a great view of the six mile course and were able to see the entire course from the viewing area. In attendance were Al Copeland of Copeland Restaurants/Popeyes in New Orleans as well as the Governor of Brazil.

Special thanks to Todd Jones from Atlantic Shores Resort. The hospitality from Todd and his staff was special and greatly appreciated. The rooms were magnificent. The boat was on display at Atlantic Shores for an entire week, located a block away from the famous Duval Street. Duval Street is famous for being open 24/7 and very open minded to dress codes and so on. What happens on Duval Street stays on Duval Street.

Special thanks to our associate sponsors. Thank you Grease Monkey, Door-2-Door, Scanmaster, Keystone Payroll. Please visit our sponsor page for more information on our sponsors. Be sure to thank our sponsors by supporting them.

You guys ROCK, thanks for the wonderful, wonderful rooms and hospitality!

The race boat had prime real estate as it sat outside the Atlantic Shores Resort for one week, which is located one block from the famous Duval Street in Key West, Florida.

Cruise ship in the background of Race Village. People would depart the cruise ship and were able to walk right through Race Village. There were 10s of 1000s daily who visited race village.

Just one of the Copeland race boats on display. Mr. Copeland, owner of the world famous Copeland Resturants and Popeyes, brought 4 of his race boats along from New Orleans.

The Spiderman boat was also on display in Race Village. The Spiderman boat was sponsored by Spiderman the movie made by Paramount Pictures. Hollywood is an integral part of offshore racing. What a great way to promote a new movie!

The 10s of 1000s of race fans lining the famous outer mole to watch the World Championship races. As you can see the turn out was tremendous.

The race team had their race boat and swag on display in Race Village. The winds were so high that no tents could be raised. You can see the flags holding steady.

This is the race boat from Italy. This race boat is sponsored by Sony Picture and Movie company. It is nice to be associated with these major name brands in the industry.

Fans wait in anticipation for the race to begin!

Here is Keith, friend of Carrabba's Team Blythe, giving his farewell speech at the awards ceremony. He will not be around in 2005 and we will miss him.

Jaycee Blythe and her Great Aunt Jan took some time to visit the Butterfly Museum. Looks like they had a grand time.

Team owner, Todd Blythe with family at the southern most point of the United States of America. Only a ninety mile swim to Cuba.

This photo was taken during the race. The boat took some air with the rough Atlantic waters on it's way to a third place showing at the World Championships.
