Carrabba's Team Blythe Racing Makes Appearance at Charity Golf Outing

On September 27, 2004 Carrabba's Team Blythe racing traveled to north Jersey to take part in the 7th annual Find-A-Cure charity golf outing. The boat and race cars were displayed by the putting green located in front of Colt's Neck Golf Club clubhouse. The race boat, race cars, checkered flags, and trophies were the backdrop for a putting contest.

This charity is special to Carrabba's Team Blythe. This was the teams second appearance at this charity event. It is nice to see so much support for such a worthy cause. We hope this event brings more attention to children with Duchenne and one day a cure may be found. To learn more about how you can help, visit Find-A-Cure online at www.findacure.com

The food and wait staff time was donated by five local Carrabba's. Chris, the owner of Brick, NJ Carrabba's did a first class job on catering the food out on the course. There were four food stations and the event finished with a wonderful dinner also supplied by local Carrabba's restaurants. The wait staff was second to none and deserve a great deal of thanks. Not only did they donate their time but during the previous months they helped to raise funds totaling over $11,000.

A very special thanks to Stephen and Paula Hallett who coordinate this yearly charity event. We are always interested in helping to support him in any way. With all the support this event helped to raise over $20,000. These funds are directly used for ongoing research at the A.I. DuPont Children's Hospital.

Thank you Grease Monkey, Door-2-Door, Scanmaster, Keystone Payroll, Best Western, Atlantic Shores Resort. Please visit our sponsor page for more information on our sponsors. Be sure to thank our sponsors by supporting them.

Let the putting contest begin! Take notice of Carrabba's Team Blythe race boat on display for all participants to see as well as traffic on the major road that Colts Neck Golf Club is locatd on.

The putting contest helped to raise money for Find-A-Cure charity. The winner of the contest was a female golfer who managed to nestle the long putt to within one inch of the hole.

All of the golfers came to watch the putting contest and had a chance to see the team boat and race cars before the golf outing began.

A view of Colts Neck Golf Club from the driving range located across the major thoroughfare. Golfers take a shuttle which takes you under the road to get to the range.

The Carrabba's waitstaff on hand during the charity golf outing all volunteered their time to help the cause. The were recognized during the awards ceremony for not only volunteering but actually helping to raise money for the charity. Amanda, one of the waitresses, raised over $2000 on her own.

Tony, Vivian and waitstaff from local Carrabba's take time out for a photo. The waitstaff rode around the golf course during the golf outing to make sure all golfers had drinks and food. A special thanks to all the Carrabba's staff who made this a spectacular event.

Team Blythe Racings golfers included Tony N. from Grease Monkey, Vivian W. from Scanmaster who was also winner of the ladies longest drive, and Todd Blythe, owner. The team was in the hunt the entire round. The team was able to watch the standings with the help of a GPS system installed on all of the golf carts at the Colts Neck Golf Club. We watched the winning team gain five strokes in two holes; next year we will bring an outside auditor to tabulate the scorecards. At least Stephen Hallett did not win this year.

;-)

We plan to bring our "A game" next year, including a sandbagger that shoots scratch, to secure a victory.

The team next headed to race in the National Championships.
