Carrabba's
Team Blythe Continues it's Winning Ways in Marathon, Florida
Carrabba's
Team Blythe went to Marathon located in the Florida Keys for
the first APBA sanctioned offshore race. Marathon rolled out
the red carpet with a great parade of boats with thousands
of spectators watching the boats parade through downtown Marathon.
The race was well received by the locals and spectators who
came from around the world to for the Marathon Grand Prix.
This was
the teams first year competing at the Marathon Grand Prix.
After winning the world championship last year the team had
high hopes. Marathon is considered a flat water race, one
with very small waves. Although our boat is best on big waves,
the boat driven by owner Todd Blythe and throttled by Glenn
Wilson were able to overcome the conditions and secured a
first place finish to start the 2004 race season.
We would
like to put out a special thanks to Barry, the manager of
the BlackFin Resort and Marina for being such a gracious host.
You can visit them online at http://www.blackfinresort.com/.
Also, a special thanks goes out to all of our sponsors
who support each and every year. Carrabba's for all the great
food and fun along the way, Grease Monkey for keeping our
equipment in A1 shape, Door 2 Door for keeping things immaculately
clean, just to name a few.

Charlene Wilson, wife of throttle man Glenn Wilson, and her
four legged friend where part of the boat parade. They were
on hand to help toss out goodies from our sponsors to the
appreciative fans that lined the streets.
